Alright, so the 4-costs are still here. But so are some other things? Not that many other things, but still some other things. Maybe more things are coming?

Anyway, we did our homework so you don’t have to. Here are the BEST resources for learning patch 14.8b.

Below you can find a meta snapshot from TFTAcademy, a new TFT resource site by Frodan and Dishsoap.

CLIPS

📼 Clip of the Week: Miss Irelia 3. Hit Irelia 3. Win Tournament.

This week we’re featuring Filup, who has been quite a hot commodity in this newsletter lately. Anyway, he won the Tactician’s Cup #1, marking his first tournament victory ever and his 4th straight Top 10 performance in Set 11.

However, a part of me thinks winning the tournament won’t be the most memorable part of his run.

If you’ve got clips, we want to see them. Send us an email or DM Gangly or CLE with a clip you’d like to see featured in the next edition.

NEWS
🏆️ Tactician’s Cup #1

Congratulations to Filup for hoisting the first Tacticians Cup of Set 11!

Clinching the tournament with an Irelia 3 in the penultimate lobby (the clip featured above), his victory capped off a tournament highlighted by an absurd number of 3-star 4-costs. Filup narrowly edged out Altenahue, a competitor from LAS who highlighted a host of strong performances from players outside of NA.  Dishsoap picked up right where he left off in set 10 with another top 3 finish, and jdzielnski22 continued his impressive start to the set with a humble 4th.

Each of them earned an automatic spot in Tactician’s Cup #2, which takes place May 24-26, 2024.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
💡 Player Spotlight - Ramblinnn

Notable Results:

Set 4: NA Regional Finals - 5th
Loses tiebreaker for Worlds

Set 6: NA Regional Finals - 4th
1 point off worlds spot

Set 6: Western LCQ - 3rd
Loses tiebreaker for worlds spot

Set 11: Pheonix’s Pinnacle
Loses 3 way tiebreaker for spot in Tacticians Cup #2

Ramblinnn lost out on tiebreaker, AGAIN!

For those who are new or newer to the TFT competitive scene, Ramblinnn is historically one of the best players in all of North America. Between sets 4-7, he was consistently ranked as one of the best in the world and had very consistent incredible tournament performances, with one problem. He would barely lose out on the important cutoffs.

Every. Time.

Now, I know that that losing a tiebreaker in a Sub-Regional event is not a huge deal. But at this point, it is just comical how often it happens to Ramblinn.

Sadly, after losing a tiebreaker for a worlds slot twice, this weekend reminded us of the incredible bad luck that Ramblinnn has. Losing out of the guaranteed slot for Tacticians Cup #2 because of a 3 way tie is not only on brand, but expected at this point.

All of NA will rejoice when a tiebreaker finally goes Ramblinnn’s way and he can finally break the curse.

DARK TECH
😈 Garry = Garen Carry

Hero Augments are a fascinating part of the game. Designed to make random champions be the focal part of a composition, getting a hero augment like Storied Champion can radically change how you pilot a TFT game.

If you see this augment on 2-1, give it a try! Garen 3 with melee carry items are ideal. Stuff like Titans, Sterak’s, + Healing makes him survive longer, which makes him cast more, which gives him more HP, which allows him to heal more, which just starts this infinite cycle of dominance.

This board can be played around vertical storyweavers, 4 warden/5 story, or whatever else you can cook up to make Garry a reality! Most commonly it is seen as a way to dominate the midgame and push you to level 9 to cap out around Irelia 2.
