📈 It’s time to climb on 14.8b

I hope you like 4 Costs. With the buffs to 4 cost base stats and the nerfs to 3 cost odds, 4 costs have completely taken over the meta. However, there is plenty of skill expression in playing around your Level 8 rolldown.

As always, we did our homework so you don’t have to. Here are the BEST resources for learning patch 14.8b.

Below you can find a meta snapshot from TFTAcademy, a new TFT resource site by Frodan and Dishsoap.

📼 Clip of the Week: How Not to Position Kai’Sa

If you remember my (Gangly) Olaf clip from a few weeks ago, I’m happy to report that my good friend and teammate from that event, Ramkev, has shared the secret sauce on how not to position Kai’Sa.

If you’ve got clips, we want to see them. Send us an email or DM Gangly or CLE with a clip you’d like to see featured in the next edition.

New Artifacts

New Support Items

Mortdog has said that patch 14.9 will feel like Set 11.25. That is how much these new artifacts and support items will change the game.

This past weekend, Mordog’s Artifact Tournament took place and many learnings were made. I asked a tournament finalist, Ramenblitz, what he thought about these new artifacts. Here is what he had to say to provide you guys with the tech:

There are many early artifacts that end up dictating your direction of the game! Just as a Death’s Defiance and an Infinity Force may incentivise you to angle Kayn or Yone, a Wit’s End or a Forbidden Idol will similarly make the perpetual voices in your head scream Bard and Tahm Kench.

And that’s exactly what many of these new artifacts enable.

Compositions that have been nerfed and written off in the past are now back in full force whenever you get one of their prerequisite artifacts. In Mortdog’s Artifact Cup, Lux reroll was back to endlessly harassing your backline with Horizon Focus. Despite Teemo’s damage nerf, a Blightning Jewel made the Yordle a strong item holder for a fast 9 AP. Blacksmith’s Gloves also transformed into one of the most fun augments in the game with the sheer amount of Artifact combinations.

The new support items have similarly powerful effects that makes a 2-1 Support Cache all the more juicy. An early Unstable Treasure Chest gifting 3 completed items to your board makes for a frighteningly powerful streak enabler. Or maybe it is 4-2 and you are getting run over by 3 different Kayn players. Teching in Spite to cut any nearby enemy’s AD and AP by 40% veritably kneecaps their carries for the first 10 seconds.

Of course, balance changes are bound to happen since the Artifact Cup to tweak those numbers a bit, but so long as those effect descriptions are the same you can expect these shiny new items to be a powerful addition to your composition.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
💡 Player Spotlight - Filup

Career AVP: 4.63
Career Top 4 Rate: 47%
Career 1st Rate: 13%

Notable Results:

Set 11: Tactician Trials #1 - 2nd
Set 11: AotA - 6th
Set 9: Noxus Cup - 3rd
Set 8: Tactician’s Crown 3 - 5th

When I say Tri, you say State. TRI!

…?

Actually that’s about as effective here as it is in person. Anyway, Filup is one of New York’s top TFT players, with a top 8 finish at Tristate local Tactician’s Crown 3 and .

Since beginning his competitive journey in Set 6, Filup has had a slow but steady rate of improvement in his scores. In Set 9, he qualified for the Regional Finals for the first time in his career after a Top 16 and Top 8 finish in the Freljord and Noxus Cup, respectively.

Filup has been dominating the Tier 2 event scene in Set 11, placing no worse than 9th in all three events he has entered. With his run at Tactician’s Trials, he has successfully advanced to the Tactician’s Cup. Here, he can test his luck against some real heavy hitters and continue to earn his spot in among the Tier 1 North American TFT players.

DARK TECH
😈 Sniper Nautilus

While I (CLE) was on Frodan’s Co-Stream this weekend for Tacticians Trials, I asked Dishsoap, jokingly, about sniper Nautilus. His was response was shocking.

“Oh, it’s broken. His AP scaling is insane.”

This tech obvoiusly requires a sniper emblem on Nautilus, which grants +3 range and gives that champion the extra damage per hex of distance from the target. Backlining Nautilus allows his ability to absolutely nuke apposing backliners and CCing everything along the way.

You do not have to play the board above, this can be a very flexible board as it fits perfectly in with the Invoker Ashe board that has been dominating the current patch.

Also, if you get this to work, please show me by DMing me on X. I want to see it work SO bad.
